INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM - Bands & Set Times Subject To Change

DC101's ROCHE - EMCEE    9:00pm - 2:00am
Roche re-energizes commuters during their ride home each weekday, with such popular features like "The Doo Doo Time Spectacular" and more! Roche thrives on making his show highly interactive, and keeping the listeners updated through DC101.com on everything that is important in the world of rock, pop culture, and beer!
THE LLOYD DOBLER EFFECT    9:15pm - 10:00pm
Drawing from the diverse Washington, D.C. music scene, Lloyd Dobler Effect fuses rock, percussive rhythms and vocal harmonies to create an intricate and fresh sound. LDE's multi-layered and upbeat music showcases their universal appeal to both mainstream modern rock lovers and culturally diverse audiences. The band’s list of accomplishments is impressive: winners of the 99.1 WHFS Big Break Contest that pitted LDE against hundreds of area rock bands and led to several main stage appearances at the HFStival; headlining multiple international Armed Forces Entertainment tours; and being voted one of the top ten best bands in the DC area in a Washington Post reader’s poll.
GROUPLOVE   10:15pm - 11:45pm
When the members of Grouplove met it was like a dream. The setting was a remote artist colony on the exotic, mysterious Greek island of Crete. Drummer/producer Ryan Rabin and his childhood friend and former bandmate, guitarist Andrew Wessen came from California, guitarist Christian Zucconi and keyboarist Hannah Hooper traveled from New York, and bassist Sean Gadd was the lone Brit. Each member went to Greece for their own independent reasons but over time they gravitated towards each other and discovered the sound that unified them: a merging of richly narrated, intricate songs with anthemic classic pop production. It took the band the better part of a year to reunite after they left the island, but after releaseing their debut album Never Trust A Happy Song, they’re realized that what began as a fantasy has now become very real.
MIDNIGHT COUNTDOWN & BALLOON DROP   Midnight
Say goodbye to 2012 in style in the Hilton's International Ballroom while DC101's Roche emcees the count-down to the New Year with DC's largest balloon drop, and our co-headlining act will take to the stage as the clock strikes midnight!
G. Love & Special Sauce   Midnight - 1:30am
The enigmatically smooth Garrett “G. Love” Dutton is one of Philadelphia’s funkiest performers of laid back, alternative hip--hop blues  (a genre he helped define). As an insatiable musical omnivore, G. Love somehow manages to synthesize his iconic influences by shedding their layers to fin that harmonic convergence where song and listener bare their souls to each other speaking nothing but the raw-boned truth. G. Love mines the sonic ore of his heroes only to emerge with a fresh lode of precious stones.

CRYSTAL BALLROOM - COMEDY LOUNGE & LIVE KARAOKE

COMEDY LOUNGE   9:30-11:30PM (Shows every 30 mins.)
Laugh the night away with six great comedians, performing hilarious sets every 30 minutes!

Brandon Broady

Growing up and attending school in Silver Spring, MD, Broady has always loved being the center of attention and humoring others. He was named “Biggest Comedian” by the Senior Class of 2004 at Springbrook High School. Making others laugh, and being the biggest comedian/class clown came naturally to him, and it was not until teachers, family, and friends suggested that he hone his skills of comedy and apply them towards acting that he found use of his talent

Ever since moving to LA in 2010, Broady has been making a name for himself in the comedy scene, performing at The Comedy Store, working with Donnell Rawlings (“Chappelle’s Show”) and opening for Cedric The Entertainer.

Chip Jones

From featuring for the Last Comic Standing’s Reject Tour to warming up the audience for the PBS television show Money Wise, Chipp Jones’ irreverent, thought-provoking brand of comedy has audiences rolling in the aisles throughout Washington DC and up and down the East Coast.

Whether he’s suggesting a new Hallmark card collection to celebrate Congress’s recent “apology for slavery” or wondering why a recent celebrity didn’t just pay the money for a “spotter” to cut him down after sexual asphyxiation, Jones is fast-becoming a well-known comic on the DC area comedy scene and has twice made it to the finals of Maryland’s Funniest Comic. He is regularly booked at many of the local venues in the Washington DC area and has performed at many east coast clubs including Standup NY, Gotham Club, Magooby’s and Wise Crackers.

Jones’ standup comedy was a gift. During a difficult year when his wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she gave him comedy classes at the DC Improv for their 17th wedding anniversary. After her surgery was successful, he performed a 12-minute bit called “Tumor Humor” for his graduation showcase. The crowd loved it and Jones has pursued comedy ever since. He lives in DC with his wife Sue and son Chris, and runs his own computer consulting business.
