INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM

THE DREAMSCAPES PROJECT    9:15pm - 10:00pm
Fronted by 12-string acoustic guitar and cello, the addition of melodic bass grooves and world percussion rounds out "a quintet with an unconventional sound that is just as hard to categorize as it is hard to turn off" [examiner.com]. While Billboard.com and VH1.com compare the dreamscapes project to the Arcade Fire, Decemberists, Murder by Death, and Dave Matthews; theScapes are being hailed as "one of the most innovative bands to come out of the East Coast in the last decade. [CWG Magazine] "...the most authentic sound coming out of the DC area." [examiner.com] and has "...built up one of the most loyal followings of any group on the local club circuit." [Washington Post] ...but don't take their word for it, just ask the readers of Northern Virginia Magazine who voted them "Best Musicians in Northern Virginia" in 2010 and 2011.
THIRD EYE BLIND   10:15pm - 11:45pm
Since 1997, San Francisco's Third Eye Blind have recorded three best-selling albums and assembled one career retrospective. Led by Stephan Jenkins, 3EB won wide success during a tumultuous group of years when the major-label recording industry was finally losing its grip on an enterprise that for decades it had dominated with steely efficiency. Nothing could have made 3EB happier! They have gained artistic clarification -- and, surprisingly, a fan base larger than ever. In recent years, their musical creations have recast the band among a current generation of fans. 3EB now write, tour, record, and communicate in a fluid new world where their music continues naturally to evolve. Their exchange with their audience is unfiltered.
MIDNIGHT COUNTDOWN & BALLOON DROP   11:45pm - Midnight
Say goodbye to 2011 in style in the Hilton's International Ballroom while DC101's jocks count-down to the New Year with DC's largest balloon drop
THE DIRTY HEADS   Midnight - 1:30am
Rooted in the Orange County community of Huntington Beach, the Dirty Heads emerged onto the Southern California music scene with their unique signature blend of acoustic infused hip-hop and classic reggae, creating the perfect soundtrack to an upbeat, sun-soaked California. Early on, they spent many late nights jamming in their soundproof garage with a four-track recorder, writing unique acoustic hip-hop songs that featured reggae inflections. Inspired by the rock and reggae sounds of Bob Marley, Sublime, 311 and The Beastie Boys, the band's music evolved into their distinct Dirty Heads style. Dirty Heads vocalist Jared Watson sums up their fun, uncomplicated style, "We want to be positive and entertain," he says. "We just want to make you feel good."

Brandon Broady

Growing up and attending school in Silver Spring, MD, Broady has always loved being the center of attention and humoring others. He was named “Biggest Comedian” by the Senior Class of 2004 at Springbrook High School. Making others laugh, and being the biggest comedian/class clown came naturally to him, and it was not until teachers, family, and friends suggested that he hone his skills of comedy and apply them towards acting that he found use of his talent

Ever since moving to LA in 2010, Broady has been making a name for himself in the comedy scene, performing at The Comedy Store, working with Donnell Rawlings (“Chappelle’s Show”) and opening for Cedric The Entertainer.
